The Dodge County District Attorney has decided not to file charges in connection with a fatal vehicle versus that claimed the life of a Beaver Dam woman. District attorney Kurt Klomberg says following an investigation it was determined that no charges would be filed in the case. Troy Kelm was the driver of a pickup that struck and killed Kayla Davis on Highway 151 in August of 2017. Davis had stopped to render aid after two vehicles involved in a minor crash ended up in the median. Davis walked onto the median shoulder when she was struck by a southbound pickup that swerved to avoid striking her vehicle.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
