The Dodge County District Attorney says a Beaver Dam police officer was justified in using his firearm while responding to a domestic incident last fall. District Attorney Kurt Klomberg says after a careful review of the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office investigation into the shooting, he has concluded that Officer Brian Linzenmeyer’s use of his firearm was justified. Linzenmeyer shot and wounded 35 year old Richard Henke II. Henke received what were described as non life-threatening injuries.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
