A Beaver Dam man has been sentenced to prison in a shaken baby case. Dodge County judge Steve Bauer sentenced 24 year old Raymond Keyser to eight years in prison and five years of extended supervision. Keyser was convicted in November of physical abuse of a child/recklessly causing great bodily harm. Investigators say Keyser violently shook an eight month old girl in his care, resulting in permanent brain damage to the child.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
