3-12-19 gray wolf-wildlife advocates

todayMarch 11, 2019

Wildlife advocates are reacting with outrage to a plan to lift protections for gray wolves across the lower 48 states.    The proposal would give states the authority to hold wolf hunting and trapping seasons.  Melissa  Smith with Friends of the Wisconsin Wolf and Wildlife says its a bad decision.  Smith says while wolf attacks on livestock  happens,  the occurances are actually down  in Wisconsin. Smith says wolves should continue to be protected under the Endangered Species Act.  “Its always disappointing to hear the continued threat to wolves long term recovery,”  Smith told WFDL news.  “It just keeps coming and coming and coming.”
