3-12-19 9/11 traveling exhibit coming to waupun

todayMarch 11, 2019

For only the second time since it was created, the 9/11 Never Forget Mobile Exhibit is coming to Wisconsin.    The Waupun Fire Department  and Waupun Festivals says the exhibit will be on full display at Celebrate Waupun, June 29 and 30.  Waupun Fire Chief B.J. DeMaa says the exhibit is contained in a high-tech 53-foot trailer.  “Once its completely set up it ends up transforming into an 11 hundred square foot exhibit,”  DeMaa told WFDL news.   “It gives folks an opportunity to look at artifacts from the towers, media areas where you are able to listen to different documentaries,  listen to some of the recordings from first responder radio transmissions.”   DeMaa says it seems hard to believe that this September marks  18 years since the terrorist attacks.  Nearly 3,000 people died on 9-11 including 343 firefighters and 60 police officers.   Meanwhile donations are being accepted to help pay for bringing the exhibit to Waupun.   You can visit the Go Fund Me page and search 911 Memorial in Waupun.  Donations can also be made through the Waupun Fire Department or Waupun Festivals.
