A sentencing hearing is scheduled for next month for a Fond du Lac man convicted in the heroin overdose death of a 29 year old woman. A sentencing hearing is scheduled for May 8 for 47 year old Shannon Carlson. Carlson pleaded no contest to a charge of first degree reckless homicide in the September 2014 death of Jenna Reynolds. Investigators say he supplied the heroin that led to Reynold’s death at a Royal Avenue residence.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
