A Fond du Lac man involved in an armed standoff with police at a Johnson Street residence this month has been charged. Twenty seven year old Takarie Cook faces multiple charges including false imprisonment, attempted false imprisonment, and lewd and lascivious behavior. Bail was set at $15,000 cash. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 20.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
