For the second time in four weeks, the City of Fond du Lac Police Department is announcing the retirement of a veteran administrative member of the department. Captain Pat McKeough is retiring August 12 after 29 years with the department. Captain McKeough began his career with the Police Department in 1990 as a police officer. Through the course of his career he was promoted up through the ranks of the Department, holding the positions of Sergeant, Lieutenant and Captain. In 2012, McKeough was assigned as the Commander of the Criminal Investigation Division where he has served until his retirement.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
