A jury trial will be rescheduled for a Fond du Lac man accused of sexually assaulting a child. A three day jury trial scheduled to begin this week was adjourned after the attorney for Jason Vandermolen made a motion for discovery and requested additional time to review the information. Vandermolen is charged with five counts of first degree sexual assault of a child. A new trial date will be scheduled. Vandermolen is free after posting $10,000 cash bond.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
