The city of Fond du Lac is asking for public input on what direction they would like to see the city go in the next 20 years. An open house was held Tuesday night at the Radisson Hotel and Conference Center discussing updates to the city’s 2040 Comprehensive Plan. City manager Joe Moore says he believes the plan should give the city direction when it comes to future development for housing and commercial property. Moore says the city also has to pay attention to the development of residential neighborhoods. Residents can also comment on the plan by logging onto the city’s website.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
