The Dodge County Emergency Management director is warning motorists not to drive around barricades on roads that may have been damaged by flooding. Amy Nehls says motorists who ignore the barricades are putting themselves in danger. Meanwhile, Nehls says individual townships continue to assess damage to roads caused by this week’s flooding. Nehls says towns, villages and cities may be eligible for money from the Wisconsin Disaster Fund to help recoup funds used to repair any flood damaged infrastructure.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
