A Fond du Lac taxi company is offering a reward for information leading to the arrest of the person who smashed the window of a taxi last weekend. The incident was reported early Sunday morning near North Marr and East Division Streets. According to the police log, two black males damaged the rear taxi van window and took off running. Hometown Transportation says the driver and a female passenger were in the van when the incident occurred. The company says its offering a $200 reward for information leading to the arrest of those responsible. Hometown Transportation says in a Facebook post this was a wheelchair van and has resulted in a few cancellations of Christmas Eve runs for disabled people.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
