A Waupun man accused of sexually assaulting a teenage girl has been bound over for trial. Twenty five year old Patrick Benson has waived his preliminary hearing on charges of soliciting a child for prostitution, causing a child to view sexual activity and attempted possession of child pornography. According to a criminal complaint Benson offered a 14 year old girl vaping products in exchange for a sex act. Benson is being held in the Fond du Lac County Jail on $50,000 cash bond.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
