Authorities have released the name of the victim of a fatal traffic crash early Saturday morning in the city of Fond du Lac. The Fond du Lac Police Department says 30 year old Eric Ferdinand was pronounced dead at the scene on Amory Street near Arndt Street. A preliminary investigation indicates Ferdinand was driving southbound on Amory Street when his car left the road, striking a tree and the Cross Roads Care Center building at 115 East Arndt Street. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
