The Fond du Lac school superintendent says he is proud of how students, staff and parents have coped with a new on-line learning program in the midst of a coronavirus pandemic. Following the governor’s order to close all schools, the Fond du Lac School District began online classes the week of March 23. Superintendent Dr. Jim Sebert he’s still hopeful that students will be able to return to the classroom before the end of the school year, but says the district is prepared to finish the year online.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
