The Fond du Lac County Public Health Officer says she supports the formation of a COVID-19 task force in the county.   Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney announced this week he was forming the task force to help develop a plan to allow businesses to reopen.  Public Health Officer Kim Mueller says Fond du Lac County needs to have a voice.  “…and we need to have a better understanding of governor Evers’ orders, and we need to come up with a plan that works here,”  Mueller told WFDL news.     Mueller says Fond du Lac County meets the criteria the governor outlined in his Badger Bounce Back plan for reopening businesses.  Mueller clarified earlier an earlier statement that the county met the governor’s criteria to open now.  She says the county will open “When it is ready.”   “I think Fond du Lac County sits in a very good place,”  Mueller said.  “We are doing a very good job when it comes to PPE ,(Personal Protection Equipment) when it comes to surge, we have surge plans in place, and our testing is in a good place as well, unlike other counties.”   Mueller says  one area that the task force could possibly examine is how restaurants would reopen.  There are 66 positive COVID-19 cases in Fond du Lac County.
