10-13-20 trick or treating during the pandemic

The Fond du Lac County Public Health Officer says she thinks trick-or-treating can be done safely, as long as parents take some easy safety precautions for their children.   The state Department of Health Services says going house to house and having in-person contact is not a good idea.   Fond du lac County Public Health Officer Kim Mueller says don’t go trick or treating or hand out candy if you or family members are sick or not feeling well.   Mueller says trick or treat with immediate family members, and have your kids wear a face covering when they walk up to get their candy.   She says it’s also a good idea for people to leave individual treat bags on the porch for children to pick up.
