12-14-20 drive-thru testing site at fdl county fairgrounds to continue

The free COVID-19 community testing site at the Fond du Lac County Fairgrounds has been approved to extend into 2021.
“Data for our county consistently indicates a high COVID-19 activity level and positive case rate, and testing capacity in the area has been increasingly strained,”  Kim Mueller, Fond du Lac County Health Officer, said.   “By partnering with the Wisconsin National Guard, we are now able to offer additional testing to help all those that need a test to get one.”
Testing Hours and Dates:
The testing site will be open Thursdays from 10 AM to 6 PM through March 4, 2021.
– December 17,
– January 7, 14, 21, 28
– February 4, 11, 18, 25
– March 4
– The testing site will be closed on December 24 and 31 due to the holiday.
– If the testing site reaches the daily testing capacity, it may close early.
Testing Site Details:
– The site is located at Fond du Lac County Fairgrounds, 520 Fond du Lac Ave., Fond du Lac.
– Drive-thru testing; public should remain in their vehicles throughout the entire process.
– If you don’t have a vehicle, testing is still available to you on-site.
– Masks required.
– No appointment necessary. It is highly recommended to pre-register 24 hours in advance to the
test date by visiting register.covidconnect.wi.gov. If you do not register online, you may still be
tested. Staff will register you on-site but it will take more time.
– Please come prepared for long wait times, have a full tank of gas and use restrooms before
arriving. Restroom facilities are not available to the public.
Who should get tested?
Anyone who is experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 or has been in close contact with someone who has
tested positive is encouraged to get tested. Symptoms of COVID-19 can include fever, cough, difficulty
breathing, sore throat, runny nose, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, chills, muscle aches or loss of
taste or smell. The community testing site is available to any Wisconsin resident, five years of age and
older. Contact a pediatrician or healthcare provider for children under five years of age.
Additional Information:
– Members of the WI National Guard will be doing the testing.
– Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who can consent to the testing.
– No identification is necessary. You will be asked to provide your name, birth date, address,
phone number, race, ethnicity and gender.
– Negative results will be e-mailed via a secure link to view and print results. For positive results,
you will be called by contract tracing staff. Test results should be received via email and/or
phone call within three to seven business days.
This testing site was made possible through a collaboration between the Wisconsin National Guard,
Fond du Lac County Health Department, and Fond du Lac County Emergency Management.
