Fond du Lac District Attorney Eric Toney has the backing of the Fond du Lac County Sheriff and former Fond du Lac County Sheriffs in his bid for state attorney general. Toney released a list this week of 26 district attorneys and more than 50 law enforcement officials who are supporting his bid for state office. Among those supporting Toney are Fond du lac County Sheriff Ryan Waldschmidt, Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt and former Fond du lac County Sheriffs Jim Gilmore, Gary Pucker and Mick Fink.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
