The Red Cross blood supply is at historically low levels and it continues to decline. Justin Kern with the American Red Cross Wisconsin chapter says if more donors don’t come out to give, hospitals may be forced to delay care to patients relying on blood transfusion. Kern says the ongoing decline comes at a time of year when donations typically fall. Those who give blood, platelets or plasma in January will automatically be entered for a chance to win a getaway to the Super Bowl in Los Angelas.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
