The Fond du Lac County Sheriff says he is thankful an anonymous donor has stepped forward to provide Sheriff’s Offices across the state with life-saving equipment. A $1.5 million donation was made last fall to the Badger State Sheriff’s Association to be distributed to Sheriff’s Offices across the state. “We were approached by this anonymous person who said I’m kind of getting sick and tired of hearing the narrative that we need to defund the police and police are out there not doing their job, and hurting people, and the Monday morning quarterbacking. He said I want to put my money where my mouth is,” Waldschmidt told WFDL news. Waldschmidt says a portion of the donation will be used to support adding a canine to the Sheriff’s Office K9 team. The donation will also be used to purchase a rifle-rated ballistic shield.
