4-15-22 Covid-19 deaths soon to reach one million

todayApril 14, 2022

Soon, likely in the next few weeks, the U.S. toll from the coronavirus will surpass one million. Through wave after wave, the virus has compiled a merciless chronology of loss, one by one by one.  Fond du Lac County Public  Health Officer Kim Mueller says a little more than two years ago Fond du Lac County recorded it’s first COVID-19 deaths.  Meanwhile, federal data confirms that 2021 was the deadliest year in U.S history with more than 3.46 million deaths last year.   Experts say COVID-19 was the major reason, but an unprecedented spike in adolescent drug overdose deaths also played a role.  Researchers also believe U.S. life expectancy dropped another five or six months in 2021, putting it back to where it was 20 years ago.
