Fond du Lac area residents can have coffee this week with U.S. Senator Ron Johnson. Senator Johnson will be hosting a coffee clutch at Schreiner’s Restaurant on Wednesday October 2 from 7-8am. According to a press release from the Republican Party of Fond du Lac County the Senator will be taking questions in a “relaxed and laid back atmosphere while having coffee and maybe a little breakfast.”

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
