A Fond du Lac man accused of punching and kicking his pet dog has been arrested and faces animal cruelty charges. Police received an initial complaint Saturday afternoon from a resident walking their dog in the 100 block of North Berger Parkway but were unable to locate the suspect. An investigation led to the identification of a 38 year old Fond du Lac man who was arrested Sunday without incident following a traffic stop.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
