A GoFundMe Page has been established for the family of a Fond du Lac boy who has been hospitalized as doctors try to determine what has been causing almost constant seizures. According to the GoFundMe page tests show Gavin Baumgartner likely has a rare neurodegenerative disease called Rasmussen Encephalitis. Gavin’s mother, Amy has been off of work so she can be by her son’s side The GoFundMe page was established to help the family cover medical and travel expenses. So far the fund has raised a little more than $2100 toward a $5,000 goal.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
