A Fond du Lac man convicted in the shooting death of a Fond du Lac man has been sentenced to life in prison.   Fond du Lac County Circuit judge Anthony Nehls sentenced 23 year old Julius Freeman Jr. to life in prison with the possibility of release to extended supervision after 35 years.  Freeman was found guilty in July of party to the crime of  first degree intentional homicide in the October 2021 death of Benzel  Rose.  “This case sends an unmistakable message that if you aid another in the commission of an armed robbery that results in the murder of another you will be held accountable. Gun violence will never be accepted as a new normal in our community and we will work with law enforcement to aggressively hold violent criminals accountable,”  District Attorney Eric Toney said.  “I am grateful for the prosecution and law enforcement team that helped take this dangerous criminal off the streets.”   A second suspect, and the alleged shooter, Eric Perry, is still awaiting trial.   The 26 year old Rose was found dead inside a home in the 300 block of 8th Street with a gunshot wound to the head.
