Three people were injured, one seriously, when two motorcycles crashed after one hit a deer in Fond du Lac County. The crash happened shortly before 8 pm Sunday on Highway 45 near Gatzke Lane in the town of Auburn. A 23 year old Adell man was southbound on 45 near the Milwaukee River when he struck a deer and was ejected from his bike. He was flown by helicopter to a hospital with serious injuries. He was wearing a helmet. A motorcycle operated by a 23 year old Kewaskum man with a 25 year old Ocononowoc woman passenger crashed attempting to avoid the collision. They were treated at the scene and released.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
