10-3-24 brewers’ chief operating officer goes ‘between the lines’

todayOctober 2, 2024

When the season began, on paper, the Milwaukee Brewers weren’t supposed to get this far.  This week the Brewers were hoping to make a push toward the World Series starting with  the Wild Card series with the New York Mets.  Brewers’ Chief Operating Officer Marti Wronski admits the team surprised a lot of pundits this season.  “This is a team that people weren’t sure what to think,”  Wronski told AM 1170’s Between the Lines program.  “They’re hungry, undoubtedly they’re wildly talented, and I think they’re really having fun.”  The Brewers won their Division under a new manager and after losing their top two pitchers from last year, and then Christian Yelich hurt his back and didn’t play after July 23rd.  “Under Murph’s (manager Pat Murphy) leadership they have surprised all of us in the best possible way.”   The Brewers took over the NL Central lead near the end of April and stayed there the rest of the way.
