Nobody was injured in a basement fire in Fond du Lac County. Shortly after 8pm Wednesday firefighters were called to a residence on Main Street in the village of Fairwater and quickly extinguished the fire before it was able to spread beyond the basement wall. The fire is believed to have started in an exterior outlet and is not considered suspicious.
Southbound Interstate 41 in Fond du Lac reopened shortly before 6am Thursday following a crash. The interstate was closed at Highway 151 for a little less than an hour following a jackknifed semi.
The fourth and final defendant charged in a drug overdose death in Ripon has been convicted. Donavyn Mueller has pleaded guilty to First Degree Reckless Homicide in the April 2023 fentanyl overdose death of a man in Ripon. A sentencing hearing will be held February 7th. Three other defendants, Michael Manske, Joseph Schmidt-Rehbein and Maison Springston have been convicted and are awaiting sentencing.
