9-16-24 serious injury crash-fdl county

One person was seriously injured in a one vehicle crash in Fond du Lac County.  Shortly before 2am Friday rescue personnel were called to the scene on County Highway W north of Johnsburg and began treating the driver who was found on the highway near the vehicle before he was flown by helicopter to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah.

9-13-24 former waupun prison employee convicted of smuggling contraband in exchange for bribes

A former facilities repair worker at the Waupun Correctional Institution has been convicted of smuggling contraband into the prison in exchange for bribe money. Forty seven year old William Homan of Fox Lake has pleaded guilty to receiving more than 120 bribe payments totaling nearly  $54,000 while working with inmates, former inmates and their associates.  A sentencing hearing is scheduled for December 12th. 9-13-24 former fdl firefighter sentenced to prison on child porn charges

A former Fond du Lac firefighter convicted of possession of child pornography is going to prison. Fifty one year old Edgar Ramirez Tellez was sentenced Thursday to three years in prison followed by three years extended supervision. He pleaded no contest in June to one count of possession of child pornography and nine other counts were dismissed. Ramirez Tellez was a nearly 19 year veteran of the fire department.

9-13-24 fire damages fdl home

Nobody was injured in a fire that damaged a house in Fond du lac.   Shortly after 11:30am Thursday firefighters were called to 563 West Scott Street.   The fire was extinguished in about ten minutes, but not before damaging the siding on the west side of the house with smoke damage  inside the home.  Firefighters were able to rescue three pet dogs inside the house.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.

9-13-24 salmonella outbreak-the latest

The Fond du Lac County Public Health Officer says she expects the number of people sickened by a multistate salmonella outbreak caused by raw eggs to grow.  Public Health Officer Kim Mueller says so far there have been no salmonella cases reported in Fond du Lac County.  Wisconsin health officials initiated a recall of eggs following the outbreak of salmonella infections among 65 people in nine states that originated on a […]
