9-3-24 fatal plane crash-fdl county

An elderly Campbellsport man died when his ultralight plane crashed in a cornfield in Fond du Lac County. Around 8:30pm Monday rescue personnel were called to the scene near Townhall Road and Highway 45. The 89 year old pilot was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash is under investigation.

9-3-24 fdl bedroom fire

Nobody was injured in a fire that damaged the bedroom of a Fond du Lac home. A resident had extinguished the fire at 156 South Hickory Street by the time firefighters arrived shortly after 11pm Monday. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

9-3-24 boil water advisory issued for village of st. cloud

Residents in the village of St. Cloud are under a boil water advisory. The advisory was issued after an equipment malfunction resulted in a loss of pressure in the water system. The issue has been corrected and there is no known water contamination but the advisory was issued as a precaution. Water used for drinking or cooking should be boiled before used. 9-3-24 car backs into lake winnebago

Two people escaped injury after their car backed into Lake Winnebago. The incident happened shortly after 7:30pm Monday near the walking bridge over the river leading to the lake off Frazier Drive in Lakeside Park. When police officers arrived they found the driver and passenger who appeared they had been in the water.  They denied any treatment at the scene or transport to the hospital.  A local vehicle recovery company […]

9-3-24 mcdermott park improvements

Work is getting underway this week on improvements at a Fond du Lac Park.  Public Works director Paul DeVries says work is scheduled to begin the week of September 3rd at McDermott Park.   The project includes a pergola, convergence area,  benches, landscaping beds, and a native planting area.   During the project  trails at McDermott Park will be closed to pedestrian and bike travel.   The project is scheduled to be completed mid- October.
