Nobody was injured in a fire that caused minor damage to a Fond du Lac apartment. Firefighters were called to the scene at 175 South National Avenue early Wednesday morning to find smoke coming from the apartment. The fire was in a plastic garbage container and quickly extinguished. The fire was caused by improper discarding of smoking materials.

A fire Tuesday night was contained to a paint oven at Mercury Marine in Fond du Lac. Plant 15 was evacuated and about 500 gallons of water was used to extinguish the fire. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Nobody was injured.

The Fond du Lac Department of Public Works would like to inform the motoring public of the upcoming road repairs scheduled for the intersection of Main Street and Johnson Street (also known as State Highway 23).
