A Waupun correctional officer suffered bruises after he was attacked by an inmate at the Waupun prison. Sources told WFDL news the inmate struck the correctional sergeant in the face as the officer was attempting to restrain the inmate. The officer was treated at the scene. The incident happened Wednesday night. The inmate, Paul Hendler, is serving a 50 year prison sentence for a reckless homicide conviction out of Marathon County.
A Milwaukee man has been charged in connection with a high speed chase in Fond du Lac County last week.
