11-27-15 october unemployment numbers

The  October unemployment rate locally didn’t change much from the month before.   The Dodge County jobless rate dipped just one tenth of a percent  to 3.5 in October, while the Fond du Lac County rate was unchanged at 3.1 percent.   In the city of Fond du Lac the October jobless rate is 3.3 percent…down from 3.4 percent in September.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Cancer and heart disease continue to be the most common causes of death in Wisconsin in 2014.  The state Department of Health Services reports Tuesday that 50,137 Wisconsin residents died in 2014. That is up 220 from 2013.  Cancer and heart disease accounted for 45 percent of all deaths, followed by unintentional injuries, chronic lower respiratory diseases and stroke. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The Wisconsin Department of Corrections is implementing a new overtime policy as it deals with a shortage of correctional officers.  Corrections officials say overtime will be assigned on a rotation system instead of forcing the newest officers to work those shifts when no one else has volunteered.
