MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A Republican lawmaker is trying again to legalize raw milk. Representative Dave Murphy of Greenville introduced a bill Wednesday that would allow dairy farmers to sell raw milk and raw milk products such as butter and cheese directly to consumers on the farm where they're produced. The farmers wouldn't need state milk producer licenses or permits.

KOHLER, Wis. (AP) — A court injunction keeps union members on strike against the Kohler Co. from interfering with traffic around the plant.  The company filed a complaint in Sheboygan County Circuit Court alleging the hundreds of union picketers that have gathered outside Kohler gates are causing traffic jams and harassing people trying to enter the property.  An injunction was issued Tuesday by Judge James Bolgert.  United Auto Workers Local […]

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin's gun deer season begins Saturday, but slow license sales and buck-only restrictions could translate to another down year.  According to Department of Natural Resources data, 609,779 hunters bought licenses for the 2014 hunt, the fewest hunters since 1976. They killed 222,588 deer, the fewest kills since 1983.  As of Tuesday, hunters had purchased 392,138 licenses, about 2,000 more than at the same point last year. […]

Today, members of the State Legislature, including Sen. Rick Gudex (R-Fond du Lac), sent another letter to Judge Lynn Adelman demanding that a determination is made allowing the Highway 23 project to continue. Good news for motorists heading into next week’s Thanksgiving holiday.  Gas prices have dropped below $2 a gallon throughout the state including Fond du Lac and Lomira.  AAA projects prices at the pump are expected to continue to fall in the weeks ahead.  Gas prices briefly fell below two dollars a gallon back in January and stayed below that mark for about a month.

A Berlin man has been convicted on charges in Dodge County stemming from a crime spree through Fond du Lac and Dodge Counties which included stealing multiple vehicles and car chases with authorities. At a plea hearing Tuesday, 20 year old Maxwell Decker pleaded no contest to charges of burglary-armed with a dangerous weapon, vehicle theft, and fleeing/eluding an officer.
