11-3-15 fdl coats for kids drive extended

The sign-up deadline for the Fond du Lac Salvation Army Coats for Kids campaign is being extended.  Salvation Army captain Telinda Wilson says people who didn’t meet last Monday’s deadline, have until this Thursday to sign up.  "The only last sign-up will be Thursday from 2pm to 5pm at our building,"  Wilson said.   Wilson says once again the Fond du Lac community has stepped up to donate winter coats.

11-3-15 fdl man convicted of setting fire to his home

A Fond du Lac man has been convicted of setting fire to his home.   Twenty nine year old Colin Habram pleaded no contest to arson and a sentencing hearing is scheduled for December 30th.  Habram was accused of setting  fire to a residence at 410 Ellis Street April 14th to collect insurance money to buy heroin.

WEST BEND, Wis. (AP) — A West Bend couple woke to a frightening surprise over the weekend. Washington County sheriff's officials say they found an intoxicated intruder sleeping on their couch. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The Legislature's budget-writing committee is set to consider adding two state Justice Department prosecutors to handle gun cases in Milwaukee.  The DOJ, Department of Corrections and Milwaukee officials struck an agreement in July to improve investigations and prosecution of gun-related crimes. Scott Walker's campaign has failed to provide employer information for nearly 6,000 contributors last year, the most of any campaign committee. The law directs campaigns to report the employer of donors who give more than $100 to a campaign committee during a calendar year. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin's elections board is asking a judge to dismiss as moot one of the claims made against it in a lawsuit filed by Wisconsin Club for Growth related to the investigation into Gov. Scott Walker. The board says that since Wisconsin's John Doe law has been changed to no longer allow investigations of political misconduct, the lawsuit's request to stop further action is not relevant.
