MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The chief of staff of the troubled Tomah Veterans Affairs Medical Center has been fired. David Houlihan was placed on leave in January while the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs investigated allegations of over-prescribing of pain medication and retaliatory behavior. The American Red Cross is helping a family of nine people after a fire Friday afternoon on Monroe Street in Berlin. The Red Cross is providing financial assistance for items such as emergency food, shelter and clothing. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Governor Scott Walker has approved a nearly 167 thousand dollar improvement project to design reconstruction of a runway at Dodge County Airport near Juneau. A Fond du Lac man has been convicted of setting fire to his home. Twenty nine year old Colin Habram pleaded no contest to arson and a sentencing hearing is scheduled for December 30th. Habram was accused of setting fire to a residence at 410 Ellis Street April 14th to collect insurance money to buy heroin.
