A Kenosha truck driver charged in the cold case slaying of a Sturdevant teenager has been bound over for trial on drug charges in Fond du lac County. Probable cause was found at a preliminary hearing Thursday for Dennis Brantner on five felony bail jumping counts, three counts of possession of narcotics and two misdemeanor drug possession counts. Nobody was injured in a fire that caused extensive damage to a Ripon home. Firefighters from 11 departments including the city of Fond du lac were called to the scene at 551 Metomen St. Thursday. The cause appears to be accidental…an oily rag left next to the stove. The occupant apparently had the oven on self-clean mode and left the house before the fire started.
A Ripon man accused of hiding his brother's body has been convicted. At a hearing Thursday Robert Diamentis entered a plea to an amended charge of negligiently subjecting an individual at risk to abuse causing death.
