UW-Fox Valley Dean Martin Rudd has been named the new Northeastern Regional Dean as part of a new restructured administrative system. As regional dean, Dr. Rudd will oversee UW-Fond du Lac, Fox Valley and Manitowac. MILWAUKEE (AP) — The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee has inaugurated Chancellor Mark Mone (MOH'-nee), who is tasked with leading the school through a $30 million two-year budget cut. Friday's ceremony belatedly celebrates the appointment that's been in place for more than a year. Mone has said the state-mandated reductions mean his campus could lose hundreds of jobs.
MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The longtime leader of a Wisconsin state employee labor union has died. Sixty-eight-year-old Marty Beil died in his sleep at home on Thursday night. His sister says Beil had not been ill and his death was unexpected. He had retired in June as head of the Wisconsin State Employees Union American Federation of State, Municipal and County Employees Council 24.
The Fond du Lac Elks lodge 57 has been suspended. The Elks Grand Lodge has taken possession of the Fond du Lac Lodge. The suspension is for six months. The Fond du Lac Elks Lodge is the oldest in Wisconsin dating back to 1886. They are located at the corner of Sheboygan and Portland Streets.
