A Fond du Lac apartment complex and business were evacuated following a gas leak in the area Monday. Firefighters were called to the scene on Western Avenue and Brooke Street shortly before 2:30pm Monday where it appears construction crews may have accidentally struck a one inch gas line. Alliant Energy was called to repair the leak. An apartment complex and the Cars R Us business was evacuated as a precaution.

James Rasmussen made his initial Fond du Lac court appearance Wednesday on charges of first degree sexual assault of a child, exposing genitals to a child, and three counts of delivery of marijuana.
