9-16-15 shots fired at vehicle in dodge county

A Madison man is in custody after firing shots at another vehicle over the weekend outside of the Fox Lake Kwik Trip.  The incident unfolded Sunday night following a disagreement.  Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt says two vehicles were traveling on Highway A, when a man in one vehicle fired shots at the other vehicle.  Bullets struck the vehicle, but no one was injured.  The incident is under investigation.

9-16-15 oakfield man charged in severe beating

An Oakfield man  accused of assaulting,strangling and holding a woman against her will has posted $5000 cash bail.  Fifty one year old Jay Smith is charged with battery, strangulation, false imprisonment, intimidation of a witness, and disorderly conduct.  According to a criminal complaint, Smith repeatedly punched and kicked the woman striking her an estimated 100 times.  She told authorities Smith became angry when he could not perform sexually.  The woman said Smith refused to […]
