9-16-15 female orangutan dies at milwaukee county zoo

MILWAUKEE (AP) — A female orangutan has died at Milwaukee County Zoo. The zoo says the orangutan, named MJ, died Monday of unknown causes. She was 35 years old. The zoo says preliminary reports indicate the orangutan had chronic health issues, but none of those appeared to be a single cause of death.

9-15-15 illinois man pleads not guilty in death of fdl toddler

A man accused of killing a toddler by standing on top of the child has pleaded not guilty.  Daniel Griffin entered the plea at an arraignment hearing in Fond du Lac County Circuit Court.  Griffin is charged with reckless homicide and child abuse.  The victim’s mother, Airealle Smart also pleaded not guilty to charges of neglecting a child  and neglecting a child causing death.  The incident happened earlier this summer […]

9-15-15 head on collision near oshkosh sends four to the hospital

A head on collision in Winnebago County has sent four people to the hospital with serious injuries.   Investigators say shortly before 11 pm Monday a car collided with an SUV on Highway 26 near County Highway Z in the town of Nekimi.  Three people in the car were critically injured and the SUV driver received serious, but non-life threatening injuries.  Highway 26 was closed for several hours while crews worked […]

Four months after approving a beekeeping ordinance Fond du Lac city officials are considering an ordinance that would allow residents to keep chickens in residential areas.  Two Fond du lac residents are asking for changes to the municipal code that would allow them to raise chickens on their property.
