9-5-15 new fdl area united way director

The United Way Board of Directors has hired Amber Kilawee as the new executive director of the Fond du Lac Area United Way organization.  Kilawee has worked for the United Way for eight years, starting as a college intern.  She replaces longtime director Tina Potter who retired earlier this year.  The United Way kicks off its annual fundraising campaign this month.

9-5-15 nail salon gunman charged

A Fond du Lac man accused of threatening an ex girlfriend with a gun at a nail salon has been charged.  Nineteen year old Jerry Yang is charaged with recklessly endangering safety, carrying a concealed weapon without a permit and disorderly conduct with a dangerous weapon.  Bail was set at $25,000 cash.  Police say the incident occurred Friday August 28th when Yang entered the Sky Nails Salon near the Festival […]

9-5-15 invasive species found in fox river

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The state Department of Natural Resources has confirmed round gobies have been found in the lower Fox River.  DNR officials said  that the fish were caught immediately below the Neenah dam. A DNR spokeswoman said one was caught on Monday and two more on Tuesday.  The aggressive, bottom-dwelling fish are native to the Black and Caspian seas of Eurasia. They range from 3 inches to 6 […]

An Illinois man accused of sexually assaulting a 12 year old Fond du Lac girl has been bound over for trial. A Ripon man accused of hiding his brother's body has been bound over for trial in Fond du Lac County.
