An Appleton attorney from Fond du Lac is charged with contempt for allegedly misrepresenting his client in a robbery case.  Michael Petersen pleaded not guilty at his initial Outagamie County Court appearance this week.  A trial is set for October.  Investigators say Peterson lied when he told his client that if he pled guilty the charges would later be amended making him eligible for prison treatment programs.  Petersen is accused […]

A 22 year old Fond du Lac man has been arrested in connection with the robbery of the Microtel Inn Sunday.  Assistant police chief Steve Klein says police officers arrested the suspect without incident Tuesday afternoon at an East Second Street residence.  Klein says it appears there may have been other people involved and additional arrests are anticipated.  Police say evidence from the crime was found during the investigation.  The […]

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin's bear hunting season is set to begin next week.  The season is slated to begin on Sept. 9 and run through Oct. 13. State Department of Natural Resources officials say they've issued a record 10,690 permits. MILWAUKEE (AP) — A survey from the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago says the value of Wisconsin farmland in its district fell about 2 percent from April through June.  The survey also showed the value of "good" farmland dropped 2 percent for the second quarter of 2015 from a year earlier. A federal appeals court ruled in 2012 that the village of Palatine, Illinois violated the federal Driver's Privacy Protection Act by leaving a parking ticket on a resident's car listing his personal information.
