9-2-15 fdl city manager unveils proposed budget

A proposed Fond du Lac city budget includes a slight increase in the tax rate.  The budget released Tuesday includes a 2.5 percent increase in the tax rate.  The property tax levy is up 4.6 percent from $22.8 million to $23.9 million.  City manager Joe Moore says the increase is driven primarily by an increasing debt payment and a nearly 1.5% increase in net new construction.  The budget also includes […]

9-2-15 fdl police continue search for motel robbery suspect

Fond du Lac police are still looking for a suspect in the armed robbery of a local motel.  Police chief Bill Lamb says the Microtel Motel on South Military Road was robbed at gunpoint Sunday afternoon.  Police say a man robbed the motel clerk at gunpoint and fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.  The suspect is described as a white male (possibly in his twenties), thin build, […]

9-2-15 reward offered for return of grave sculpture

A reward is being offered for the return of a sculpture stolen from the grave of a six year old girl.  Fond du Lac resident James Last is offering a $100 reward for the return of the butterfly sculpture stolen from Tiffany Last’s grave in a cemetery near Dundee.  She died in December 2006.  Last says the sculpture was handmade by Last’s father, Jeremy Krahn, because his daughter loved butterflies.  […]
