8-28-15 crop duster crash

HANCOCK, Wis. (AP) — Authorities say the pilot of a crop-dusting plane has died after crashing near Hancock in central Wisconsin.  Waushara County Sheriff Jeff Nett says the plane went down Wednesday in a wooded area while spraying a potato farm. Nett says the pilot was the only person in the single-engine plane.   The Federal Aviation Administration was at the crash site Thursday.

TOMAH, Wis. (AP) — The troubled Tomah Veterans Administration Medical Center says it will make several changes to address staffing shortages.  The VA announced Wednesday that the hospital's 11-bed inpatient psychiatric unit had stopped admitting new patients and will temporarily close next week. 8-28-15 fdl fire and rescue earns international accreditation

8-27-15 fdl garage fire

Nobody was injured in a fire that damaged a garage in Fond du Lac.  Firefighters were called to 1229 Wedgewood Lane early this morning.  A neighbor spotted the fire and extinguished it before firefighters arrived.  Careless use of smoking materials is apparently to blame.
