MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin's unemployment rate for July is 4.6 percent, unchanged from June. The Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development reports Thursday that the state added 8,200 private sector jobs over the month.  The state's unemployment rate continues to be lower than the national average, which was 5.3 percent in July.  The state data is based on a survey of 3.5 percent of Wisconsin employers. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A state Assembly committee has approved a Republican bill that would restrict John Doe investigations like ones that looked into Gov. 8-21-15 outdoor swimming pool season coming to a close

The City of Fond du Lac’s Parks Department says Taylor Pool will have extended hours Friday  including open swim from 6-8 pm  and will have regular hours through August 23rd,   Taylor Pool will be closed for the season starting Monday August 24th.     However, due to life guard staffing, the Fairgrounds Aquatic Center will close on Friday August 21st at 4:00 pm for the remainder of the season.

8-20-15 dodge county sheriff pleased placement orders are rescinded for two convicted child sex offenders

The Dodge County Sheriff says he’s pleased that two dangerous child sex offenders have been removed from a town of Leroy residence.  In separate rulings recently judges rescinded orders placing  Jonathon Miller and Robert Larson at the Brownsville area residence.  Sheriff Dale Schmidt says when the placement orders were issued law enforcement was unaware that young children were living next door.  Schmidt says the situation raises the question of communication […]

8-20-15 police say fdl woman was sexually assaulted by man she met online

Police say a Fond du Lac woman was sexually assaulted by a man in New York state she met online.  Fond du lac police contacted Endicott New York police about a possible missing and endangered woman who traveled there to visit a man she had met online.  Using cell phone tower and other information Endicott police found the 52 year old woman at the man’s home.  She told investigators the […]
