8-19-15 new government center entrance

A new handicap accessible north entrance to the Fond du Lac city-county government center is now open to the public.  A ribbon cutting ceremony was held Tuesday evening.  Fond du Lac County executive Al Buechel says  the entrance  includes an elevator to the first floor.  Former Fond du Lac police chief Mel Heller was the first person to ride the new elevator.

8-18-15 tree falls on power line-forces traffic detour

An inconvenience for motorists in southern Fond du Lac County after a tree fell on a power line…forcing a traffic detour.  Fond du lac County Sheriff’s captain Rick Olig says the incident happened Sunday night on Highway 67 near Lakeview Road.  Traffic on Highway 67 was detoured for several hours Sunday night and Monday morning until utility crews could repair the damaged power line.

8-18-15 fdl county highway garage-land purchase

The Fond du Lac County Board will consider a resolution at their meeting Tuesday night to purchase  land for a new highway garage.  The 37 acre site is located at the northwestern corner of Scott Road and Hickory Road.  The cost of the property is $800,000.  Fond du Lac County Highway commissioner Tom Jahnke says the Highway Department has outgrown its current facility on Dixie Street.  County executive Al Buechel […]

8-18-15 blood shortage

The American Red Cross is making an urgent plea for Wisconsin residents to donate blood.  Red Cross spokesperson Katie Gaynor says there is a looming shortage of the blood types most needed by patients.  Gaynor says overall blood donations in  the region have been approximately  1622 fewer per month in June and July this year than the previous 10 months.

8-18-15 ribbon cutting-new fdl government center entry

A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held this evening on a new front entrance at the Fond du Lac city county government center.  County executive Al Buechel  says the new entry way will be handicap accessible and will include an elevator.  The ceremony starts at 6:5pm Tuesday night prior to the county board meeting.
