8-18-15 fatal car crash victim identified

The victim of a fatal car crash early Saturday morning in Fond du Lac County has been identified.  Sheriff’s Captain Rick Olig says 20 year old  Jake Treptow of Fond du lac was pronounced dead at the scene on Lap Road north of Golf Course Drive in the town of Taycheeda.  He was a passenger in a car driven by 19 year old Jacob Zielicke of Mount Calvary.  Zielicke was […]

8-18-15 car vs. train update

A Fond du Lac man has been upgraded to fair condition following a car versus train accident in Fond du lac Monday.  The accident happened early Monday morning at the Scott Street  railroad crossing.  The driver of the car was extricated from the vehicle and flown by helicopter to the hospital.  Police are still continuing their investigation.

8-18-15 drowning victim identified

Authorities have identified the drowning victim on Lake Deneveu.  The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office says 70 year old Chuck Westby of Fond du lac died when he jumped off a pontoon boat to go swimming Saturday night and didn’t resurface.  The body was recovered late Sunday afternoon.  Westby was a longtime Fond du lac insurance agent.

WEST ALLIS, Wis. (AP) — The Wisconsin State Fair has wrapped up.  The fair tweeted Monday that more than one million people visited the State Fair this year during its 11-day run, which ended Sunday in suburban West Allis.  The fair was on track to sell 400,000 cream puffs, which rivals anything-on-a-stick in popularity.  Fair spokeswoman Kristi Chuckel attendance peaked last Saturday when nearly 137,000 people visited the fair grounds.
