Nobody was injured in a fire that destroyed a vacant former convent in Fond du Lac Friday evening. Firefighters were called to the scene on the corner of Division and Amory Streets to find heavy fire in the attic and roof area of the massive brick building. Four candidates have applied for a vacancy on the North Fond du lac School Board. The board will hold a special meeting Tuesday to interview the candidates and make a selection. The candidates to fill the seat are Sherrie Degner, Diane Mand, Melissa Will and Ronald Margis. Superintendent Aaron Sadoff says the vacancy was created when board member Ryan Pelot stepped down because he moved out of the district.
